Welcome
to the most romantic cruise of a lifetime! Even if you come
alone, you will romance with nature in a houseboat on the
Kerala backwaters.
Kettuvalloms or Houseboats are country boats that were used
in the early days for the transport of goods, particularly
rice, from the isolated interior villages of Kerala to the
towns. When roads, bridges & ferry services hit the scene
gradually the Kettuvalloms disappeared from the waterways.
Now these riceboats have a new purpose in life as houseboats,
retaining the old world charm of authentic Kerala but modified
to give you modern-day comfort with tasteful furnishings.

| What
a way to explore the fascinating beauty of the big backwaters
of this small God's Own Country. |
A
houseboat is about 69 feet in length and has a width of
around 13 feet in the middle so your style won't be cramped.
All the materials are local and eco-friendly like bamboo
poles, coconut fibre ropes, bamboo mats, coir carpets etc.
The main wood used in "Anjili". There are fully
furnished single bedroom houseboats for one or two people
and two bedroom houseboats for four people. And of course
there are separate resting rooms for your crew of three.
You will cruise down centuries-old backwaters flanked by
picture-book towns and ancient trading ports. Losing yourself
in time on a houseboat will come easy. Relax with a tender
coconut drink on the deck as the sun sets on the scenic
backwater of the Vembanad lake and the lush, green paddy
fields of Kuttanad, the 'rice bowl of Kerala' slip by.
Relish exotic, traditional cuisines like Masala Pearlspot
(Fresh water fish), Grilled Prawns, Vegetables in coconut
gravy prepared by our expert chefs. Gently drift off to
sleep as the cool breeze of the backwaters soothes you.
You can sunbathe, sit in the shade, talk to the crew, commune
with nature, look at village life on the riverbanks, wave
to the fishermen as they punt past you. But above all we
offer you the most relaxing time of your life in a magic
natural environment. It's a holiday you'll never forget.
Tours can be of any duration you fancy from a couple of
hours to several days.
