Travel
to Alleppey by taxi, one hour south of Cochin
and board a traditional rice boat, now a house
boat. Sip a tender coconut drink on the shaded
deck and doze off in the Kerala sunshine to
the sound of lapping waves. Then perk up and
watch Indian village life as you cruise along,
the ladies washing their clothes on the rocks
by the riverside, the men punting by in simple
fishing boats. You have your own private staff
of three to attend to your needs, a captain,
a cook and a waiter plus a lot of Kerala friendliness.
Dine by Kerala lantern under the starry skies.
